Stopping Head Cleanig

I have an Epson Stylus C45 inkjet printer. Of late, the printer has started doing a head cleaning whenever I switch the printer on even when a head cleaning was really not necessary. In the process, a lot of the expensive ink is being wasted. Is there a way out to prevent the printing from undertaking such unwarranted head cleaning?
