Anyone familiar with refilling toner?

I refilled it did a messy job, but I don't even know how it works to determine where it's dirty in there that is causing the marks on the page. They're always like like this, on this part of the page, this marking pattern. Anyone know how this is happening, what I need to clean exactly? I'm suspecting it's not in the cartridge but inside the printer that maybe spilled toner over. Might that be the issue? Hopefully not as it looks like I'd have to get out my tools

edit: oh, this is an HP Laserjet CP1215

hi
magenta image unit either drum or charge roller needs clean (if not damaged)
dont use solvents
gentle clean with damp cloth
if drum has a mark or dink in it you will see when you clean it
may need to remove drum to get to charge roller

remove your drum so that it would be refill
