I found the cause and solution myself after determining that Brother iPrint&Scan would not crash when using a Sonoma Virtual Machine on the same mac and also when running Sonoma in Safe mode. After much trial and error I found that Paragon NTFS for Mac version 15.11.870 was causing the issue. After reinstalling NTFS for Mac the Brother iPrint&Scan app stopped crashing.
