Brother printer stopped printing.

After being out of town for a week, my wife tried to print a page and got a message "Printer not available" or "Drive not available" - do not remember exactly now. Everything was working fine a week ago.

The computer is Dell Latitude 5440, Win 11. The printer is Brother HL-L2340D.

I downloaded a driver from the Brother web page, went as far as [Print a test page]. It did not print. Printer job status showed "Error printing..." Same error when printing a random text page.

Please help diagnose the problem

Quick fixes for your Brother HL-L2340D

. Restart the Print Spooler (services.msc → Print Spooler → Restart).

. Unplug and reconnect the USB cable (try another port).

. Remove printer → reinstall driver from Brother website

. Check the printer port (avoid WSD; use USB001).

Thank you, David, the problem is solved. When looking at the ports, I noticed it was set to LPT1. Do not know why. So, I changed it to USB001 and everything worked.
