Long story short I have worked days trying to load software for this printer. Every time things look OK for one of the 2 user profiles I have on the computer (me and my wife). The other has trouble with print function in iprint&scan. It either shows it cannot find driver or (if not that) when I try and print it cannot display print preview and will not print.
Brother provided a link to download software when some software is already installed. I must have run that 20 times trying different things each time to make it work. Finally I succeeded!!!
I have iprint&scan & PaperPort installed and they seem to work. I also have Brother's Mobile Connect APP on my phone (but do not see myself using that much).
**** Problem is I am missing the Brothers Utilities APP ******
But the issue is I did not get the Brothers Utilities APP. I see in my C drive I have 2 files in my Program File (X86) under brother/BrUtilities. They are BrLogAPI.DLL & BrLogRx.exe.
So my question is. Do I really need it????? Having never had a brother printer I do not know what it does.
After all the trouble just getting this software working I need to know if it is worth the agony to try and start from scratch and trying to load software all over again.
I may have all the functionality I need with iprint&scan & PaperPort. I am not sure???
I have a call scheduled for tomorrow with a TECH from Brother to discuss issue and possible next steps.
I am 70 years old and not a techy at all so please provide answers that I might understand. Thanks
