Can't access WiFi on new printer

Hi,

Just bought an HP Deskjet 2710. I can't link up to my wi fi. As soon as I enter my router security key/password, my internet access switches off and I have to re-enter it for the router to work. This happens every time I try. There's nothing wrong with the password because I have other devices in the home and there is no problem. There's clearly a mis-alignment with the settings somewhere. Any help would be welcome.
