Check printing problem

The Brother MFC-J4510DW printer feeds the paper in sideways, where other printers feed the paper in top first. I'm assuming that when you make the selection for one or two or three checks, Quicken just sends a command to kick the sheet out after printing the requisite number of checks, so it doesn't necessarily care how long the paper is. But this Brother printer's paper guides center the sheet "vertically" and needs the length in order to know where to locate the printing on the page. So unless I can solve this, I can only print a full page of checks.
