Epson ET-4856 scan to pc fails under Windows 11

I’m running Windows 11 and my Epson ET‑4856 is connected via Ethernet.
  • Printing works fine.
  • Scanning from the PC works fine.
  • Scanning to PC (push scan) has stopped working since I started using Windows 11.

I’ve been in contact with Epson support multiple times. I have uninstalled all Epson software several times and reinstalled it according to the sequence recommended by Epson. The scanner can see my PC, but scanning always fails with a communication error. Epson Event Manager is running in the system tray. The printer has a fixed IP address outside my network’s normal range, as Epson support suggested.
Epson’s last suggestion was to offer the printer for repair, but coincidentally the printer is now out of warranty, so I’m not going to do that.

I also tested the same setup on an old Windows 10 PC. On that machine, Scan to PC works immediately, with no hassle regarding drivers, firewall settings.

Has anyone experienced something similar with Windows 11 and the ET‑4856? Any ideas on how to get “Scan to PC” working reliably on Windows 11?
