Epson Printer WF-7015's plastic part on the cartridge box is broken

Epson Printer W7015's plastic part on the ink cartridge box is broken. I accidently did it. I checked a bit but I couldn't fully understand its funtion. Is it something important ? It seems that the printer still works fine.

The broken piece was cross shaped plastic in the below given photo

As long as the plastic bit is out and the printer still prints, you're fine. A lot of pieces can break off a printer and still have the printer work. Not as much on the newer models. But the older ones you can almost completely dismantle before it doesn't work.
