Hi all, i am new to the forum and looking for some help.

I need to purchase a new printer and have narrowed down to a;
Epson Stylus SX610FW
or
HP Officejet Pro 8500

But as I dont have a clue about printers and specs etc i am strugging to decide on which one to go for.

I have had both HP and Epson printers in the past and not really had any problems.

The main things i need from a printer is good scan and print quality.

If anyone can guide me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,

Here are the specifications for both printers you have asked about.

Epson Stylus SX 610FW
* A4 Multifunction Inkjet Printer
* Print, Scanner, Copier, Fax
* 6.3cm LCD Screen
* Up to 38ppm Mono Print Speed
* Up to 38ppm Colour Print Speed
* Up to 5760x1440 Optimised dpi Resolution
* 120 Sheet Input Tray, 30 Sheet ADF
* Memory Card Slots, Direct Printing from USB Stick
* PictBridge, WiFi, Networked, USB

HP Officejet Pro 8500
* A4 Multifunction Inkjet Printer
* Scanner, Copier, Fax
* 35ppm Mono Draft Quality Print Speed
* 34ppm Colour Draft Quality Print Speed
* Up to 4800x1200 Optimised dpi Resolution
* 250 Sheet Input Tray
* Duplex Unit
* Memory Card Slots, PictBridge
* Networked, USB

The main differences are:
Epson Stylus SX610FW has a faster print speed so will be able to print an additional 3 to 4 pages per minute.

HP Office Jet Pro 8500 can hold 250 sheets of paper in the input tray, whereas the Epson Stylus SX610FW can only hold 120.

The Epson Stylus SX610FW is a wireless printer which some see as a big benefit.

Hope this helps - for a more detailed spec, have a look on Printware.co.uk
