Epson XP-245 black ink problem

Hello All

I have an XP-245 which hasn't been used for a while.
Tried to print and got poor black ink performance (tried all the usual nozzle check, head cleaning and print head alignment, but no improvement). I bought a new set of cartridges and replaced the black one.
Tried again - no improvement.
Can anyone suggest anything else i can try?
