I have a HP Deskjet 2131 just out of the carton, but out of warranty, so the official software HP Easyshare app will not download.
Is there software that will get this printer working?

HP Smart App is another app that is widely used for the printer setup especially with the smartphone devices. So, try to install the app and see if it helps in completing the setup. Outdated or corrupt drivers can also be the reasons to face the problem. Also, if the printer comes with the wireless connectivity options that it will also be good to use them to connect the printer to your computer device. Even if your printer is out of the warranty still you can call the brand customer care to ask for the help of guidance.
