Printing Maps

I am using mapping software where I can draw thick lines to highlight certain areas. When I print the map these thick lines reproduce as thin lines on the printout.
The mapping software people say this is a problem between their software and the printer drivers and can't be fixed.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have a HP Officejet Pro 8610.

Can you export it as a pdf? Then you can choose "Print as image" when printing, should solve your issues.

Hi there, thanks for the advice! I just tried it but the PDF is created with thin lines. I am not a computer expert but it seems there is something lost in translation when the mapping software exports the print job to the printer. The instruction to format lines does not get thru and it defaults to a standard thin line. I spoke to HP support and they couldn't help me.
