Printing using Ink Tank printer on 60 GSM paper

Hello,

Is it possible to print on 60 GSM paper (used for commercial purposes) using Epson inktank printers? I own Epson L655 and Epson L6170.

A printing press worker said using such papers will damage the printer. Is this true? Can using a wrong paper damage the printhead or printer? I would like to make my own books and bind them, so having thinner paper seems the way to go (comparing with a few books I have come across).

Can you suggest which paper is to be used for printing books? And also will using low GSM paper damage the printer and in what way?
