Springs Springs

I have a epson xp-310 and has been a very good printer, made a noise and I looked to see that a spring was connected on one end and and not the other, it is a strange setup. I can't find any info on the little spring.

I have posted a picture of the problem at the lower left of the picture. If anyone has any Ideas please let me know and thanks. I have much ink for this.

I have the service manual for that model, but I don't see that part. The manuals are very dense with info. Where is that part located? It's also a good idea to take wide-angle shots from further away, to give context, so we can get a better feel for where that part is located.

Suggest you post another couple of photos, this time with plenty of light and your flash off.
