Squeaking transfer belt wiper

Hi. I have a very old Canon ir2380 which recently had the wiper blade replaced. Would have replaced belt but no longer available. It has squealed ever since when the belt moves.
I read somewhere that talc on the belt would stop it but wanted to check first!!
