Hi everyone,

I’m working on a small DIY project where I need to print a design on greaseproof paper. I’m curious if anyone here has experience with this type of printing. Are there specific printers, inks or techniques you’d recommend for better results?

While researching, I came across this helpful guide that discusses the challenges and methods for printing on greaseproof paper. It gave me a good starting point, but I’d love to hear your personal experiences or tips.

Looking forward to your advice thanks in advance!

Printing on greaseproof paper can be tricky, but here are a few tips:

  1. Use a laser printer—it works better than inkjet to avoid smudging.
  2. Adjust settings—set your printer for lightweight or transparency materials.
  3. Test first—do a small test print to tweak the settings.
If printing directly doesn’t work, you could try transferring the design with heat. Good luck with your project!

Printing on greaseproof paper can be tricky, but it’s definitely doable with the right approach! From my experience:

  1. Use Laser Printers – They work better than inkjets because the toner adheres well to the non-porous surface. Inkjet ink tends to smear.
  2. Choose the Right Settings – Set your printer to a lower temperature (if adjustable) and use the thick paper or label setting to avoid jams.
  3. Prep the Paper – Make sure the greaseproof paper is flat and free of wrinkles. You can also tape it to a regular sheet of paper for better feed-through in your printer.
If you need a lot of prints or complex designs, professional printing services might be worth considering. Let us know how your project turns out—sounds exciting!

Printing on custom greaseproof paper is tricky because of its non-porous surface. For best results, use screen printing, flexographic, or UV printing with food-safe inks if in contact with food. Keep designs bold, test first, and consider light surface treatment to improve ink adhesion.
