Which ink can be printed over latex ink?

It might sound confusing, but I have this Epson m1100, which was modified to print White latex ink. I tried to print a white layer on transparent paper then I tried to use my Canon GN2010 to print color layer over it, but the water based ink doesn't seem to be able to hold on to the surface of the area where the latex ink was printed. The color red just turned into pale red and I can easily see the white layer. Any suggestion?
