Hello,

Is there a way to speed up the booklet making via the interposer? I have pre-printed sheets to make a booklet.
Any help would be apricated.

Hi there,

Yes, you can usually speed things up a bit depending on the make and model of your machine, but a few general tips that might help:
  1. Use the Interposer's Bypass Tray Smartly: If your printer has an interposer or bypass tray designed for pre-printed sheets, make sure it's configured correctly in the job settings. Set the media type and tray source properly so the machine doesn't slow down trying to "sense" paper mismatches.
  2. Job Build Mode (if available): Some booklet makers have a “Job Build” or “Mixed Media” setting that allows you to combine pre-printed and printed sheets in one pass. Check if your device supports this and configure it accordingly.
  3. Avoid Frequent Tray Switching: If your interposer pulls from multiple trays, try to load everything into one to reduce switching time between sheets.
  4. Print Driver Settings: If you're sending jobs from a PC, double-check your print driver. Sometimes booklet or mixed media options are hidden under the “Finishing” or “Special Pages” tab.
  5. Firmware Update: Occasionally, speed or interposer handling issues are resolved in firmware updates. It’s worth checking with your service provider or manufacturer’s website to make sure you're on the latest version.
If you share your machine model, I (or others) might be able to give you more specific advice. Hope that helps a bit!

I have Ricoh Pro 8320.

I have set up the bypass trays accordingly and in the print file, but its not any faster.

I have contacted the service techs and the analyst but was told there is no way to speed up.

Again, all I am doing is using the pre printed sheets to make a booklet, feeding the sheets thru the interposer bypass.
