Brother MFC-L2700DW, Scan to PC issues

My Brother doesn't recognize my PC nor vice versa. I downloaded the software but nothing. Here's the setup, The printer is connected to my Linksys Router via USB. My PC is connected to the very same router via ethernet. This does not seem to be a valid method according to Brother because the setup wizard does not recognize the printer in any mode. So, is there a trick or something I'm missing? Seems like a driver issue that shouldn't exist in 2015
