canon mg5200 series wont print -needs colour

hallo,

new to forum so hallo everyone!

happy with my canon mg5200 series but it wont print in grayscale as it complains it has insufficient cyan ink.

QUESTIONS
1. is this normal? i do not need colour printing and have enough black to print a book!

2. how can i fool it into printing? it is the weekend AND i am 20 miles from the nearest ink-shop.

ONE VERY UNHAPPY canon bunny! if i cant resolve this i will warn everyone i know to stay away from canon
