First Canon after years of HP.

Why does the machine use 2 black cartridges--1 bigger than other--and not just one bigger?

Very likely one is pigment and one is dye.
The pigment cartrige is going to be for text and is a much darker ink
The dye cartrige is a lighter black and works better for grayscale
I'm beginning to worry about this forum (I'm new to it) You have no answer and it's been three weeks... Sheesh!
