Hi,

I have a cannon pixma mx 310 all in one printer. I want to make it wireless. But the wireless print servers cost more than 70 $.

I found a D-LINK DP-311P Wireless Print Server 2.4Ghz 802.11b LPT print server for 20$. But since its parallel port I am planning to buy a USB-Parallel port cable to attach the printer to the print server.

I just want to confirm from experts that this would work or if I will end up with lot of troubles. I have a wireless G router working in mixed mode.

Thanks in advance.

I think you may end up some some trouble going via a Parallel > USB > Print Server route, as I've found some conversion cables to be quite fussy and require drivers to get working.

I'm sure you can pick up a USB version very cheap, I did a quick google search and found quite a few : wireless print server - Google Product Search

Good luck in your hunt :)
