Epson - do they require you to sign in?

Hello,

I currently have an HP scanner that requires me to sign in to my HP account in order to use it. This is extremely frustrating because their authentication servers seem to have issues.

I am hoping to switch to an Epson v600. Can somebody tell me if Epson requires you to sign into an account just to use their devices?
