Epson ET-2720 Scan not working on MX linux

I downloaded the Debian 10 package for the ET-2720 and installed it. The software in Linux sees the ET-2720, but gives me an error that it can't start the scan. Epson doesn't provide support for Linux installations, so I can't contact them. Any suggestions?
