Epson r1400 wont accept ciss ink cartridges

I had the ciss cartridges in the printer and was doing just fine until I changed the print head. Ciss cartridges are
brand new I used it to do some head cleaning,, at which point I did changed the head. I reinstalled the cartridges
many times, still getting the replace ink on the Status Monitor..
