I have a Brother MFC-J5740DW printer which has run operated without issue for some 18 months now. I recently used the flatbed scanner (i.e. NOT the automatic paper feed tray scanner) and noticed there were some pretty significant streaks (see attached) - sort of like low ink printouts but without any actual ink, cause it's a digital flatbed scan and not a printout.
Anyway, I cleaned everything knowing all the while that cleaning couldn't be the issue since the flatbed scanner head is below the scan glass (i.e. a sealed unit) and sure enough when I looked at the lamp (as it ran a scan process with the lid up) small portions of the scanner lamp did not appear to be lit. Is there a way to remedy this (which I doubt) or is it something I get a replacement lamp for? Any help would be really appreciated.
