How do you select ink color P7000?

I found a P7000 sitting behind me but darn if i can get the ink bay open? Epson has always made it really hard to open their ink covers. There is a "open ink bay" button, but it doesn't actually open the bay, you have to select a color first. The instructions are "select the ink bay that you want to open" . How do you do that? Touching the screen doesn't work. The selector dial doesn't work. What am I missing?
