I have a venerable old HP 4L printer that has been the best printer that I have ever owned and I don't want to part with it.
However, I have a minor issue that I don't seem to be able to resolve.
Recently, it was necessary to connect it to a USB port on the computer using a parallel to USB a adapter cord. The printer works well but it will stop printing and refuse to respond if the computer has been on for several hours while the printer has been inactive. (It works fine for the first few hours.) If I reboot the computer, the printer works again as expected but will stop again after several hours of inactivity.
Has anyone experienced and solved this problem?
