HP Deskjet 4280 new Black ink cartridge very faint

I have just replaced both ink cartridges with HP ink in my Deskjet 4280 but the new Black ink cartridge is very faint. Any ideas out there?

Sounds like the printer just needs to run a cleaning cycle. Go into the printer settings and run “Clean Printhead” a couple times. Also make sure you pulled the tape off the new cartridge (easy to miss). If it’s still faint, try reseating the cartridge, sometimes it doesn’t click in all the way.
