HP: Landscape printing as portrait & visa versa!

I am using Mac and an HP Photosmart C4180. When printing from Word, Excel and Mac Preview the printer is producing everything in reverse. When I choose Portrait it prints in Landscape and when I choose landscape it prints in portrait and scaled down.

Would this be a problem with the Printer of the software?

Just to check; can someone list the exact settings I should configure if I am trying to get an Excel spreadsheet/Word Image doc to print a layout of two A5's on an A4 Sheet in landscape?
Is there any way of getting to the route of the problem by either hard resetting the printer or the osx print utility?

Ps, i found this similar issue, don't know if it shines a light on anything..
