lost printer

I totally lost my printer trying to fix the recent problem with my Mac and HP printer. I had spent countless trying every solution I could find.I moved the HP folder to the trash and emptied the trash. Not very smart! How do I reinstall my HP Photosmart series C4400 all in one printer? It does not show as a choice and is not listed as my last printer under preferences. Any help appreciated.
