Im looking for a good low end 3 in 1 printer<printer-copier-scan> which uses replacement catridges that wont punch a hole in my pocket. Any recommendations?
Someone also suggested that I get models which have separate catridges as itd be cost effective - I dont have to throw everything just because I have to change black!!!

Please suggest me a few as its something that Id like to buy for my wife as she's lost her job and wants to start a home business...

Thanking you in advance...

You will see from my recent posting that I recently bought a Canon Pixma MP280. I haven't used it much as yet but it prints great. I find it a little noisy on start-up compared to my previous MP470. Other than that, it seems to be a good printer for the price (I paid $69.99). At the moment many stores have the Canon MP490 for under $30! Unfortunately, I didn't know this until after I bought the MP280. I believe the best printers are Canon. If all you need is a good basic printer without all the bells and whistles, this is a good brand. Mine has a good scanner that will take a book. I've not yet done any photos. They do, however, only have one colour cartridge but, contrary to what many people say, single colour cartridges are expensive and unless you are constantly using only one colour, it's not worth paying the extra price for a printer that uses them. The Canon has a black cartridge which uses pigmented ink for laser quality printing and their colour cartridge uses dye inks for rich colours for photos, etc. If you want wireless, it will cost a little more but there are many models out there for under $100, so surf the net. I'm sure you'll find something to suit you.
