MB 472 Forgotten Admin Password

Hi,
I cannot remember the Admin password for my printer. I've tried all I can think of, including the standard ones of aaaaaa, 999999, 000000, 123456! Nothing works. How can I do a factory reset to try and get the original one to work? Thanks.

To perform a factory reset on an Okidata MB472 printer without a password, you'll need to use a combination of physical buttons and power cycling. Here's how:

Steps:

1. 1. Power off the printer:
   Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
2. 2. Hold SEL and SHIFT:
   While the printer is off, press and hold the "SEL" (Select) and "SHIFT" buttons simultaneously on the printer's control panel.
3. 3. Power on:
   While still holding down SEL and SHIFT, turn the printer back on using the power button.
4. 4. Release buttons:
   Continue holding SEL and SHIFT until the display screen shows "Initializing SW".
5. 5. Complete the reset:
   The printer will then reboot and display "data present". It will likely prompt you to insert paper for test prints. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the calibration process.
   

This method will reset the printer to its factory default settings, effectively wiping out any custom configurations or passwords you might have previously set.

Thanks. I'd already seen this, but my printer doesn't have an SEL button. I've tried SHIFT AND OK but it doesn't work.
