MF2875FD network problems

After months of excellent and easy functioning my MF2875 seemed to be offline/unreachable.
Investigating wat did cause this problem i found that the IP adress, subnet mask and Gateway addresses had been changed spontanious, and where completely out of any working range.
Manually correcting this would not solve anything, reinstalling software and searching the printer also no releaf.
Testing cat6 cabling , router , switches (ports) same result everything a-okay and good working order.
However, connecting a laptop with cross cable directly to the printer made ping tot the printer succesfull !!!
First tell you the config:
XDSL modem / 4 port router >
Port one - 16 port managed 10/100 switch : Printers / scanners /security camera's.
Port two - 8 port managed 10/100/1000 switch : Computers / Nas.
Port three- audiovisual equipment.
After finding out the printer working 1 on 1 with the laptop , disconnected the printer from the 10/100 switch and connected is to the 10/100/1000 switch , and the printer was working like nothing even happened.

Raises a question, how can it be the printer to be functioning perfectly on the 10/100 switch and after a few months loses connection and wil only operate on the highest speed switch ??? Menu setting on the printer is autosensing speed, so the printer should be working on either 10/100 or 1000Mbs. Anyone idea's experience with this specific problem ????
