MFC-J6910DW incoming faxes?

OK, I'm 66 years old and not very familiar with these new fax machines. If I plug this onto my regular phone line, can it detect an incoming fax and just receive it automatically, even if I pick up the phone at the same time? So I don't need a second line for fax? That would be great.

And I see in the manual that it has a PC-Fax Receive function. So it doesn't have to print, it can just send it right to my PC as a PDF file and notify me?
