No LED display on brother MFC-L2740DW

The light comes on briefly when you power up the machine then nothing. Sounds are normal. Can print and scan from my laptop with USB connection. Tried holding down the power button while plugging it in a few times, but nothing.
Thanks greatly for any help. If repair is not economical, then I need to know. Cheers.
