no wlan option

I bought a brother's HL-4040CDN a couple of days ago. it works fine using an ethernet cable or printer cable. but I can't figure out how to set it up wireless. All searches tell me to go to Lan, then WLAN. but there is no WLAN option. or any wireless option for that matter, When I go Lan all I have is ethernet or tcp/ip. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
