Hi everyone,
I recently got a Kyocera ECOSYS M2640idw from an office. Most features are working fine, but I’m having trouble setting up the Scan-to-Email function.
I’ve configured the SMTP settings using an email account hosted by cyon.ch. I followed the provider’s setup instructions carefully, but when I try to send a scan via email, I get the following error on the printer:
"Send error: The server is not functioning correctly. Job cancelled. [Error code: 2202]"
or in German:
„Sendefehler: Der Server funktioniert nicht richtig. Auftrag wird abgebrochen. [Fehlercode: 2202]“
I’m wondering if the issue might be due to missing authentication, incorrect encryption settings, or a DNS/network config problem.
Questions:
Has anyone successfully configured scan-to-email on this model (especially with a non-Gmail/Outlook mail server)?
Should I enable SSL/TLS or use a different port?
Is authentication mandatory?
Would doing a factory reset help in case something’s misconfigured?
Any help or guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks!
