Vertical space on every page

Using a Canon MX452. Suddenly I'm getting a vertical gap (like a white line) down the middle of every page I print. It is approximately a letter wide. No letters are actually missing. But there is a space between them. And it occurs in a different place, depending on the document. This began after I removed a paper jam. Changing to different paper doesn't help. How can I correct this problem?
