What did I do to my Canon MX80???

Awhile ago I had a paper jam when printing multiple duplex pages. It was pretty bad and I couldn't see if there were any release handles which could help me, so...
I went to the back of the printer and taking off the rear cover I pulled the paper out. Well not exactly, I tried, but it ripped so I pulled on it some more. Eventually cleared the paper jam. Ever since, sometimes but not always, words or letters or even lines slant a little to one sideand are somewhat wavy looking. The printer otherwise works fine, but as it is I couldn't print a formal business letter or a spreadsheet with it. I hope this can be corrected with something other than a new printer or a repair that costs as much as one. Many thanks in advance,
