What does "Reset bottle level count" do? (G3480)

I have Canon PIXMA G3480 printer. It has the following items in the Ink notifications settings menu.

1. Ink notification function
2. Reset ink level count
3. Reset bottle level count

There’s enough information in the user manual for 1 and 2 but I couldn’t find any info for 3.
