brother MFC-J410W printer - duplex printing

Hi All

I know this printer does not support duplex printing. But, I use fineprint as my default printer which does duplex with any printer.

Now, unlike HP inkjet, this printer has a feed tray to put in the papers. Is there any way to put the paper (direct feed like HP inkjets) without the tray as I need to take out the page and reverse and insert again. This tray thing has become too cumbersome.

I'm guessing that you probably cannot, the printer usually won't print without the tray being fully closed as the printer will check if it's there and check if there is paper available before printing. You may be able to bodge it but I imagine that it would be very difficult to do so.
