Hi guys,
I own a Brother MFC-L2710DW that has a persistent paper-jamming issue when I use manual feed slot.
The steps I take are simply:
1. Place a single sheet of 90gsm copy paper in the manual feed slot and listen for when the printer engages with it
2. Choose Menu -> 4. Printer -> 1. Test Print

The printer's fan spins up, the paper slides into the printer and this error appears:

Jam Inside
Open the Front Cover> pull out the Drum Unit completely and remove the jammed paper.

I've attached two photographs, which are the paper's position and condition in the printer when I remove the drum unit, and the condition of the test print when it is pulled out of the printer. The print job is unfinished according to the print queue and I have to unplug the printer and plug it in again to clear the queue.

Just looking for any ideas.

Hey,
I’ve had the same issue with my L2710DW using the manual feed. Looks like the paper starts feeding but gets stuck midway before the fuser. From your photo, the print is partially done, and the skew suggests it's not grabbing the paper straight.

A couple of things to try:
  • Make sure the manual feed guides are snug against the paper (but not bending it).
  • Try flattening the paper if it has any curl.
  • Clean the manual feed rollers (they might be dusty or worn).
If that doesn't help, it could be a worn pickup roller or solenoid delay issue. Might need servicing. Good luck!
