Canon C3220 scans are TIFF, not PDF?

We have a Canon C3220, whenever we used to scan to email it came through as a PDF, now everything is coming through as TIFF which when we email to clients some cannot open, I cannot figure out how to get this back to PDF, any help is greatly appreciated.
