Canon MX870 U043 Error Code

I have a Canon MX870 which shut off in the middle of a printing job. When restarted it there was a B200 error code. After looking online the advise seemed to be to try cleaning the print head with alcohol, which I did. That did not do anything so I then found out I could bypass the error by pushing the "on" button 5 times on startup. That worked, then a U043 error code came on. It says that the printer does not recognize any of the 5 cartridges. I have been using non-Canon cartridges for years with no problem and have replaced them recently. On the next startup, the B200 code came back on. At that point, I ordered a new print head and have installed it. When I started it up the U043 code came back on. I really do not want to buy $50 worth of cartridges when the present ones were working before the sudden shutdown.

Do you have any Canon OEM cartridges you can try? Full, partially full, or even empty? Does it recognize them?
