Canon MX870 will not scan

When I push the "go" button, I hear all the right noises but I get no scan and this error message: "scan failed code:5, 202, 54"

Printing, copying are OK.

Have cycled power and reseated USB cable at both ends/

Never mind. Rebooting computer did the trick.
