Can't Get Good Print

Printer Brother MFC495CW. Problem is unless I do a "clean" the black ink with every print order I get a very poor print. Colors are fine. After running the cleaning, black prints well. Second try at printing results in poor black again. Driver is current for Windows 10. Had same problem with Windows 7. Changed black tank but same proble.

Has my MFC seen better days?
