Changing default print settings on Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5540i

I am trying to change the default color settings for printing.

Currently, all the computers that are connected to the printer have the color setting set to 'Auto'. This causes a lot of unnecessary color printing.
I've already found a way to change the settings within windows so that it defaults to 'B/W' for every application. However, there are a lot of machines connected to this printer and I'd prefer not to log in to one of them to make this change.

Is there some way that I can accomplish this from within the printer? I've looked everywhere in the printer terminal and I can't find anything.

you control printer output through the print driver
easiest way is to add another printer to each desktop and give it b/w properties
and rename them colour and black and white
make the b/w printer your default
(make users choose colour)
you can also enable user codes (maybe called something else)
where everyone gets a code to use printer and you can manage there profile
say not let them scan or copy or print in colour
you could setup a print server and control the printing that way
each option needs a bit of work though
