Epson Stylus Color 1520. The Cover Open Light Remains on, So the printer won't do anything except move the print heads so I can exchange cartridges and go thru the cleaning cycle. I checked the cover open switch, and determined it was bad. I bypassed it, but the light remains on and the printer won't do anything else. Which connection on the board does the switch connect to? Is there any other reason for this behavior?
I disassembled the printer and noticed there is a battery like the CMOS ones in a computer. What will happen if I remove it for replacement? It's there to keep something in a memory.
